Stefania completed her specialization in Clinical Pathology in 2007 on the gastrointestinal tract at the University “La Sapienza of Rome”. In 2010 she obtained her PhD in Experimental pathology and neuropathology at the University of Milan. Since 2006 she has been working as a researcher and staff scientist in the lab of Silvio Danese. From 2015 to now she has been working as an assistant professor in applied biology at the Humanitas University. Her focus of interest is understanding the complex interplay between diet and the intestinal epithelial barrier in the pathogenesis of IBD and in intestinal tumorigenesis.
