Dr. Simona Feno is a Research Technician at the Humanitas Research Hospital. In 2014 she completed a Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Padova with thesis: “Comparison of different cell penetrating peptides in the transfection efficiency of THP-1 monocytes”. In 2014 she started a PhD program in Biomedical Science in the laboratory of Professor Rosario Rizzuto at the University of Padova. Her research topic was based on the role of mitochondria in skeletal muscle regeneration. In 2018 she completed her PhD with thesis: “Physiopathological characterization of mitochondrial Ca2+ in skeletal muscle regeneration”. She followed the academic research in the same laboratory as postdoctoral fellow by focusing on the role of mitochondria in muscular disorders.

After three years of postdoctoral activity (October 2021) she moved to Milan and she became Research Technician in the laboratory of Translational Immulogy headed by Dr. Enrico Lugli.
