2017 Marie-Curie Awardee. I have focused on the study of pathogens and immunology since my MSc in 2006. First at the National Institute of Health (Italy), then during my PhD at the University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany) and my Postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Denver (USA). While transitioning to a faculty appointment at the UC Denver, I focused on pregnancy-specific maternal responses to infection, with a broader interest on how pathogens affect pregnancy. I am currently investigating how maternal dysbiosis alters pregnancy outcomes and neonatal immunity.
