Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pavia in 2002; he was visiting fellow in 2004 at the Ackerman Academy of Dermatopathology in New York, USA and in 2006 at the Dermatopathology Research Unit of the Medical University of Graz, Austria. Dr. Borroni completed his residency in Dermatology and Venereology at the Sapienza University of Rome in 2006.
From 2008 to 2009 he worked at the Pharmacogenomics laboratory of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
In 2010 he obtained a PhD in Molecular and Regenerative Medicine from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia; he was then awarded a post-doctoral fellowship at the Fondazione I.R.C.C.S. Policlinico “San Matteo” of Pavia, Italy, where he worked until May 2017.
Since 2017 he is Assistant Professor at Humanitas University and staff physician in the Dermatology Unit at the IRCCS Istituto Clinico Humanitas.
His main research interest include INNODERM project to create clinical development of non-invasive imaging technology for the diagnosis and objective follow-up of skin diseases. Psoriasis co-morbidities and personalized treatment.
