Morini graduated in Biology (2003) and obtained her PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Florence (2007). From 2007 to 2009 She worked as postdoc at the University of Milano Bicocca and in 2010 she joined the group of Michela Matteoli. Since 2015, she a staff scientist in Pharmacology and Brain Pathology Laboratory lead by Michela Matteoli at Humanitas Research Hospital.

She has a long-dated experience in electrophysiological techniques (whole cell patch clamp, double patch recording, field recording) in the neuroscience field applied to cell lines,  primary cultures, and brain slices.

In the last years she performed the electrophysiological characterization of the actin capping protein EPS8 in synaptogenesis and synaptic plasticity and contributed to studies on the function of the protein SNAP-25, in synaptic transmission. Dr Morini actually is involved in research projects aim at defining the interactions between the immune and the nervous system during neuronal development.  In particular, more recently she contributed  to unveil a new role of the trem2 protein in neurodevelopment process
