After obtaining her degree in Biotechnology at the University of Vic (Spain) in 2009, Montse spent 3 years at Virginia Tech (USA) studying the immune response in different pathologies. In 2012, she moved to Italy to begin her PhD in Molecular Medicine at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”, in order to study the role of miRNAs involved in cardiovascular diseases and cellular communication. As a post-Doc, Montse is currently evaluating how optical-activated materials might modulate vascular response to injuries.
