Francesca Tettamanzi is a data scientist and bioinformatician working at the laboratory of Medical Genetics and RNA Biology led by Professor Rosanna Asselta at Humanitas University, where she is attending a PhD program in Data Science in Medicine and Nutrition. She obtained her master’s degree in Biotechnology, and subsequently in Biostatistics, at the University of Milano-Bicocca.

She is currently interested in applying bioinformatic and quantitative methods to investigate the molecular genetics of solid tumors and to identify underlying susceptibility genes and non-invasive biomarkers. Topics of her PhD project include the characterization of the genomic landscape of thymic carcinoma, a rare tumor of the mediastinum, as well as the use of liquid biopsy and next-generation sequencing technologies to monitor tumor response to therapy and mutational pattern evolution in non-small cell lung cancer.
