She holds a PhD in Immunology and 20 years of scientific research in the onco-immunology field. She trained as a post-doc for 2 years, at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, in New York. She is now Associate Professor in Pathology at the University of Milan and senior researcher in the Cellular Immunology Lab at IRCCS Humanitas Research Hospital, where she leads a team of two post-docs, one bioinformatician and one imaging analyst.

Her research lines are focused on the intersection between immune cells and cancer progression. She has actively contributed to define the significance of tertiary lymphoid structures and macrophages in human tumors, including pancreatic cancer, which is a major topic of her research.
