Evelyn Mazzarelli

PhD student

Evelyn Mazzarelli completed her Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Health and Nutrition in 2021 at the University of Urbino. In October 2021, she was awarded a fellowship and joined the Plasticity, Fibrosis and Cancer Laboratory headed by Dr. Sara Lovisa.

Since November 2022, she is enrolled in the PhD program in Molecular and Experimental Medicine (MEM) at Humanitas University. Her research focuses on the role of the Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) program in the context of inflammation and fibrosis.

In particular, she studies the cellular and molecular mechanisms by which the EMT program could regulate the development of tissue fibrosis and the response to acute and chronic injuries.
