Postdoc fellow

Eleonora Grisard graduated with honors in 2013 in Medical Biotechnology at the University of Naples Federico II. In 2017, she completed a PhD in Cell Biology at the University of Padua in cooperation with the National Cancer Institute (CRO) of Aviano, focusing on the role of non-coding RNAs in the metastatic progression of colorectal cancer. After her PhD, Eleonora moved to France, where she spent a 4-year post-doctoral research period in Curie Institute (Paris).

There, she mainly focused on the biology of extracellular vesicles (EVs) and on their role in the progression of breast cancer. Currently, Eleonora is a post-doctoral researcher in the Plasticity, Fibrosis and Cancer Lab directed by Sara Lovisa, at Humanitas Research Hospital.

Here, Eleonora investigates the role of epithelial-to mesenchymal-transition (EMT) program in the initiation of colitis-associated-cancer (CAC), a particular type of colorectal cancer which can be observed in patients affected by inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
