SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS
Dr Cristina Sobacchi is actively involved in the study of genetic diseases, in particular primary immunodeficiencies and bone diseases (osteopetrosis and osteoporosis). Her main interest is in bone biology, with particular respect to the pathogenesis of skeletal diseases and the development of new therapeutic strategies in animal models by using pharmacological and cell-based approaches (MSC, iPSc) as well as gene editing and gene therapy approaches.

Since 2007, PI in 5 grants funded by Telethon Foundation, 1 grant funded by Cariplo Foundation, 2 grants funded by the Italian Ministry of Health; Co-PI in 1 grant funded by the Italian Ministry of Health.
She is co-author of total 63 peer-reviewed publications on International Journals in which she features mainly as first or last author (h index: 22; source: Scopus), and 2 Book Chapters.
