Anita Capalbo

Postdoc fellow

Anita Capalbo was an undergraduate student in Alberto Auricchio’s Lab at the Telethon Institute for Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) in Naples from 2006 to 2009, where she prepared her Master thesis in Biology on the characterization of skeletal abnormalities in different animal models resulting from Mucopolysaccharidosis type VI disease.

After the master degree, she joined Alberto Luini’s group in 2009 at TIGEM, where she received her PhD in Genetics and Medicine from the Second University of Naples in 2012, studying the regulation of the early secretory pathway mediated by cAMP/PKA signaling pathway. She started her first postdoc fellowship in the group of Alberto Luini at the Institute of Protein Biochemistry (IBP-CNR) in Naples focusing on advancing translational research in genetic disorders characterized by anomalies in the early secretory pathway.

She currently works as postdoc fellow at the Medical genetics and RNA biology Lab headed by Prof. Rosanna Asselta. Her studies are focused on the discoveries of the regulatory pathways of myeloid cells, inflammation and cancer.
